McAllen, TX —Border Perspective has launched its annual in-person Border Summit, taking place in San Juan, Texas on the United States & Mexico border from October 17 - 20, 2024. This timely and pivotal summit will bring faith leaders, community leaders, and passionate individuals together to explore, understand, and move in response to the complex realities of global migration. The pressing needs of people on the move cannot be ignored. The time is now for Christians to consider the role of the Church and how God is bringing the nations to our doorsteps.
The Border Summit is designed to equip attendees with a Biblical perspective on immigration issues, as well as practical tools, resulting in meaningful action within their respective communities. The summit will feature a series of keynotes from nationally recognized organizations, local leaders panel discussions, and service-learning opportunities, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
Event Highlights:
Keynote Sessions on topics including "Global Migration: The Movement of People + A Move of God" and "Immigration Policy through the Lens of Scripture,” and “Ministry, Discipleship & Multiethnic Communities”
Service-Learning Breakouts: Participants will join together in practical service-learning activities with local organizations like Team Brownsville and the Catholic Charities Humanitarian Respite Center.
Local Pastor & Leader Panel : Hear from experts serving on both the US and Mexican side of the border as they take part in a bilingual panel offering both their personal experience and practical applications to spiritually engage refugees and immigrants at the border and beyond.
