+ WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER FOR MY TRIP?
We recommend you secure your spot as soon as you are ready as these trips have limited availability.
+ ARE BACKGROUND CHECKS REQUIRED?
Yes. Any person 18 or older is responsible for getting a background check.
+ IS OUR VISION TRIP SAFE?
Yes. Your safety is always a top priority. All of our partnerships are long-standing relationships with vetted ministries. As for general safety, rest assured that the border is one of the most patrolled regions in the country with an extremely high level of law enforcement presence.
+ IS BORDER PERSPECTIVE AFFILIATED WITH A DENOMINATION?
Border Perspective is a division of Real Resources Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
+ HOW ARE PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WE VISIT SELECTED?
Border Perspective works alongside local Pastors, non-profit organizations, and local churches year round. Our team lives and serves border communities on a year round basis. Border Perspective collaborates with local Pastors to plan what organizations or churches you will be visiting during your trip.
+ WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
During your trip, it is important that you make every effort to dress respectfully, modestly, and appropriately. Please understand there are different cultural norms in the places that you are visiting. While certain clothing may be acceptable back home, it might not be appropriate for your trip. Please review the dress code below and pack accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Please bring a nicer outfit for the Sunday morning church service. It is recommended that ladies wear a skirt or summer dress. Men can wear khaki shorts or long pants with a nice t-shirt/shirt.
+ WHAT IS THE TRIP COST?
The trip cost is $475 per person. The costs covers all meals, service & learning opportunities, and lodging (shared room) while in South Texas. It does NOT cover your flight to South Texas or transporation on the ground.
+ WHEN IS ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE?
Please plan to arrive by 3:00 PM on the start day of your trip. Our team will welcome you. The trip concludes with lunch, debrief and departure at 2PM. We are happy to accommodate your travel plans so please contact us if you need special arrival or departure plans.
+ Transportation
You are responsible for purchasing your own airline tickets and rental car. If you are flying in to South Texas, the airports nearest to us are McAllen International Airport (MFE - 15 minutes from site), Valley International Airport (HRL - 40 minutes from site), Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO - 1 hour from site), and San Antonio International Airport (SAT- 4 hours from site: often more direct flights).
